Monsignor King is a priest of the Diocese of Harrisburg, having served as Judicial Vicar and Vicar General there, and Judicial Vicar in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. He has been a pastor in urban and suburban parishes and served as Vice-Rector of Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Maryland. He obtained the licentiate in canon law degree at The Catholic University of America and a doctorate in canon from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He is on the full-time faculty of the School of Canon Law at the Catholic University of America and adjunct faculty of the Columbus School of Law. He regularly consults in the fields of property tenure and corporate governance with Catholic healthcare systems and Catholic higher education, as well as dioceses. To maintain a modicum of sanity, he is also a private pilot and organist.
